A Fabulous Gift to Mark a Special Day
Wow! This Wedding Gown is breath taking. Marilu has been making dolls for years… and has made a bride doll to give to her daughter-n-law to be. Having had a doll shop, Pandora's Box, Marilu is well equipped with all of the doll making essentials. The gown pattern chosen is a Duchess of York replica. Showing us photo's of her daughter-n-law's dress…this doll gown is an exact model. Marilu's first comment was, "Had I not had my machine to do all of this embroidery, this gown never would have gotten done"…"It was very simple with my machine". (Marilu has a D1)
Marilu has used metallic threads, sequins, beads & pearls to generate this amazing gown. She used a low luster Satin for the dress and a beautiful lace for the underskirt. And if the gown isn't outstanding enough, she made the doll too! And I don't mean bought the pieces & put it together… she made the arms, legs, etc., with porcelain, molds, paint & more. Marilu has made many dolls for family & friends… in fact she has made a replica of the flower girl too! The look on the two gals faces next week when they open these boxes will be a photo to cherish. Marilu is planning to give them their gifts as they're preparing for the big day! Beautiful work Marilu!

Taylor, Lauren and Courtney did a GREAT job making their book cover. They were so good at what they did they even had time to make a cute purse! The girls got to try out our NEW ER10 Punching Machine, in WSS June 22 Kids Zone class, and let there creativity lead the way. Good job girls!

A Beautiful Hobby to Share
Beulah has been sewing for years making a variety of clothing; vests, dresses & more… but when she turned 80 years old last year her gears shifted and she began in a new area of sewing… making dollies. Beulah's doll creating began last year when a person asked her to repair a doll, and then at Christmas her daughter gave her a doll as a gift. By the look of all the dolls in Beulah's photos… it's been a whirlwind ever since.
Beulah has her own production line going. She repairs dolls, makes dolls and creates her own clothing patterns to fit various sizes of dolls. Her husband helps in making Doll beds, while Beulah sews the bedding. Many of these dolls are traveling distances. We asked, while looking at her photos "Beulah what do you do with all of these dolls?" "I give them away" she said. Infact Beulah's daughter took over 20 dolls to give away to severely handicapped children in Oklahoma. What an gracious gesture. Beulah's work is outstanding, and every dolly is different. Beulah loves her Husqvarna Viking Viva sewing machine & Ruffler foot… with her talent…I imagine she can create about anything with her machine.
